Dylan Koerner is a distinguished composer, conductor, multi-instrumentalist, and educator based in New Britain, CT. He holds a Bachelor of Music Education and Disciplinary Honors in Music, Cum Laude, from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.
With an active background as a professional singer and soloist, Dylan understands ensemble mechanics from both sides of the podium. He has performed professionally with CONCORA and as a soloist with the Hartford Symphony Orchestra and the Eastern Connecticut Symphony Orchestra. As an active member of the Sanctuary Choir at Asylum Hill Congregational Church, his arrangements are crafted with the actual singer's experience in mind—ensuring intuitive voice leading and rewarding vocal lines.
Dylan’s conducting experience is equally robust, having worked extensively with choral ensembles at South Church in New Britain, CT, and First Presbyterian Church in Burlington, NC. His conducting portfolio notably includes Morten Lauridsen's *Lux Aeterna* with a combined community choir.
A true multi-instrumentalist, Dylan brings proficiency in guitar, piano, bass, saxophone, and organ to his creative process. This diverse understanding allows him to craft imaginative repertoire for standard ensembles, unique combinations, and a variety of textures, from handbells and jazz ensembles to sacred choral and organ solo music. Fluent in Spanish, he remains passionate about expanding accessible bilingual and Latin American repertoire for modern choirs.
